NASCAR driver Kaden Honeycutt is coming off one of the best weekends in racing this season, winning four races including his first-ever Truck Series victory. While he’s dominating in Trucks right now, it might not be too long before he’s in the Cup Series.

In the latest episode of The Teardown, The Athletic‘s NASCAR reporter Jordan Bianchi said that he exepcts Honeycutt to make it into the Cup Series by 2028.

“It’s turning heads right now and he’s got a little bit of ways to go. But the trajectory he’s on, he’s somebody that I would expect to be in the Cup Series in 2028.”

The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi on when Kaden Honeycutt could reach Cup Series

Honeycutt, who turns 23 years old in June, entered the season ranked sixth by Fox Sports‘ Bob Pockrass among the top NASCAR prospects in 2026. With Jesse Love and Corey Heim both potentially getting full-time Cup Series rides for the 2027 season, Honeycutt could be one of the next in line and be ranked even higher a year from now.

He’s proven that he can win anywhere. Honeycutt’s first-ever Truck Series win came on a weekend when he won four races, including two CARS races and a win in the ARCA Menards Series.

There’s a reason Honeycutt was hand-picked to replace Heim in the No. 11 truck with Tricon Garage. While he hasn’t replicated the historic results delivered by Heim last season, he leads the Truck Series in points (312) with the most top-fives (five) and the fourth-most laps led (68) among full-time Truck drivers.

Winning four different races with four different teams speaks volumes about Honeycutt’s talent behind the wheel. A Truck Series championship is very much on the table for him this season and, if all goes well, it’s reasonable to think he’ll be a 24-year-old Cup driver in 2028.
