47 entered for ARCA season opener at Daytona

It’s one of the most fascinating ARCA Racing Series seasons in recent memory and the season opening classic at Daytona International Speedway reflects it.

There are 47 cars entered with the rule book calling for 40 starting positions. Thus, depending on any changes to the entry list, seven teams will not even start the race itself.

Those set to contest the full season include Lavar Scott, Lawless Alan, Brenen Queen, Isabella Robusto, Thad Moffitt, Jason Kitzmiller, Brad Smith, Brayton Laster and Michael Maples.

The interesting one-offs include four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves, who will make his debut in the Daytona 500 a day later, and is in this race to shake off his superspeedway racing rust. Fellow IndyCar and SportsCar veteran Katherine Legge is also making her ARCA debut.

Rette Jones Racing has Kyle Steckly, who races for the team’s Super Late Model program and YouTuber Garrett ‘Cleetus McFarland’ Mitchell.

The race is named the Ride the Dente 200 and airs for the first time on over-the-air television on FOX at Noon ET on Saturday, February 15.
