As is standard procedure anytime a wheel comes off a NASCAR Cup Series car while on the track, two arbitrarily selected crew members have been suspended for the next two races off the RFK Racing No. 17 team driven by Chris Buescher.

Those crew members are jack man Nick Patterson and front tire changer Jakob Prall and they will miss the next two races at Phoenix Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway as a result.

Buescher finished last on Sunday in the Pennzoil 400 after his right front wheel came completely unhinged and resulted in a hard crash on Lap 28. The impact was so severe that it also necessitated a 10 minute red flag so track officials could repair the wall where he struck the wall.

From the Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series, a trio of crew chiefs were issued fines for missing or unsecured lug nuts after the conclusion of their races on Friday and Saturday.

No. 9 JR Motorsports crew chief Phillip Bell and No. 42 Young’s Motorsports crew chief Andrew Abbott were fined $5,000 in the Xfinity Series while No. 98 crew chief Joe Shear Jr. was assessed a $2,500 fine in the Craftsman Truck Series.
