Azuolas Tubelis collected 26 points and nine rebounds to fuel No. 5 Arizona to a 93-68 victory over visiting Morgan State on Thursday in Tucson, Ariz.
Tubelis made 9 of 10 shots from the floor — including both of his attempts from 3-point range — for the Wildcats (12-1), who recorded their second six-game winning streak of the season. Arizona began the campaign with six straight victories.
Oumar Ballo made all eight of his shots from the floor to finish with 21 points.
Courtney Ramey had 13 points and seven assists as the Wildcats shot a robust 57.6 percent from the floor (34 of 59) to extend their home winning streak to 27 straight games.
Malik Miller scored 23 points and Isaiah Burke sank six 3-pointers to highlight his 22-point performance for the Bears (4-8), who shot a sterling 52.2 percent from beyond the arc (12 of 23). Morgan State, however, was unable to slow down Arizona at the other end and fell to 0-7 on the road.
Miller made three 3-pointers and Isaiah Burke had two to help the Bears roll out to a 24-20 lead with 8:48 remaining in the first half. The Wildcats, however, turned the tide and benefited from a pair of dunks by Ballo to score the final seven points of the first half and take a 41-32 lead into intermission.
Tubelis had a layup and a 3-pointer as Arizona began the second half on a 12-4 run.
Tubelis didn’t stop there, however, as he converted again from beyond the arc before providing the signature highlight of the night. He stole the ball from Burke and deftly slipped past him along the sideline before providing an emphatic dunk to give the Wildcats a 61-45 lead with 12:28 to play.
Morgan State trimmed its deficit to 11 points before Arizona ignited a 10-0 run, highlighted by 3-pointers from Kerr Kriisa and Pelle Larsson.
