The Tuesday match between the Portland Timbers and Colorado Rapids was postponed after one half due to inclement weather at Commerce City, Colo.

The match was tied at 0-0 when the game was called at 11:42 p.m. MDT. A resumption date was not immediately announced.

The start of the match was delayed nearly two hours due to heavy rain.

Just minutes after the first half ended, another deluge began pounding Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The match was called approximately 80 minutes later.

Both teams had just one shot on target in the first half.

Colorado’s Lalas Abubakar had a chance in the 21st minute off a corner kick, but his spinning header was stopped by Portland goalkeeper David Bingham.

The Timbers’ best opportunity came in the 36th minute but Marvin Loria’s left-footed shot from just beyond the box sailed high over the net.

Both teams are struggling. The Rapids (2-10-8, 14 points) are winless over their last nine matches (0-7-2), while Portland (5-9-7, 22 points) is 1-4-4 during its past nine contests.
