The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to make a major move this offseason, and a new report suggests it will come down to one of two major free agents. But they are unlikely to sign both.

This past season was a magical one for the Blue Jays. They were one of the best teams in the league for much of the season. They beat rivals the New York Yankees in the playoffs and reached the World Series for the first time in 30 years.

However, their heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers showed they were very close to being a championship team, but still need a couple more impact pieces, or at the very least, to keep the ones they had in 2025.

Over the last few weeks, Toronto has been linked to various big-time additions. However, the most consistent is signing Chicago Cubs All-Star Kyle Tucker. However, homegrown star Bo Bichette also remains on the market, and despite speculation over the last few months, the organization reportedly would welcome his return.

Blue Jays-Bregman Rumors to Scare Bichette into a New Long-Term Deal?

It has some around the game wondering if the Blue Jays could go big and try to ink both to huge contracts soon. During a recent appearance on the Foul Territory Show, FanSided MLB insider Robert Murray claimed Toronto has turned into one of the most desirable places to be for many MLB players.

Furthermore, he added to the Bichette discourse and said a return to the team in 2026 and beyond is “very much on the table.” And Tucker is still in play for the Jays this offseason. However, he does not believe in the idea that the organization could sign both to sizable nine-figure deals in the coming days.

“I am seeing the buzz from other insiders that they could add both. That to me feels like a lot. I don’t know if they could end up pulling something like that off,” Murray said.

The Jays insider also suggested the recent rumblings of potential interest in Alex Bregman may be more of a threat to push Bichette into signing a new long-term deal. Either way, if the club does something, it will likely be one big move instead of two huge free agent signings.
