Earlier this season, the Charlotte Knights rolled out Ronald McDonald himself to perform the Star-Spangled Banner ahead of their matchup against the Gwinnett Stripers.
What started as a fun charity night for Ronald McDonald House quickly turned into one of the most viral moments of the young season, because the fast-food legend didn’t just show up — he delivered.
Fans were visibly confused at first when the iconic red-haired mascot strolled out to the microphone. But as soon as Ronald opened his mouth and started belting out the song, they came around. And when they realized midway through that they were getting a surprisingly strong, soulful rendition of the National Anthem, they went from going, ‘wait … what?’ to a standing ovation.

Then there was country music singer Ingrid Andress, who shocked the world in 2024 when she gave a horrendous performance of the national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby. Afterward, Andress admitted that she was “drunk” during the performance and entered rehab.
