Seattle Mariners
- C Cal Raleigh
- 1B Josh Naylor
- 2B Cole Young
- SS J.P. Crawford
- 3B Brendan Donovan
- OF Randy Arozarena
- OF Julio Rodríguez
- OF Victor Robles
- DH Dominic Canzone
Seattle was so close to finally reaching the World Series. In all of club history they have yet to make it to the Fall Classic and were one game away before the Toronto Blue Jays dashed the Mariners’ hopes.
Star catcher Cal Raleigh is returning alongside center fielder Julio Rodriguez. The only major addition to the club came in their trade for All Star second baseman Brendan Donovan. He figures to play third base after Eugenio Suárez departed in free agency.
Houston Astros
- C Yainier Diaz
- 1B Christian Walker
- 2B Jose Altuve
- SS Carlos Correa
- 3B Isaac Paredes
- OF Jake Meyers
- OF Joey Loperfido
- OF Cam Smith
- DH Yordan Alvarez
After missing the postseason for the first time since 2016, the Astros didn’t do a whole lot this offseason. Their lone move came in trading Jesús Sánchez to the Blue Jays for Loperfido. But slugger Yordan Alvarez will be back after missing most of 2025 due to injury.
Shortstop Jeremy Peña will be gone for the beginning of the season because of a hand injury so the veteran Correa will start at short until his return.
Athletics
- C Shea Langeliers
- 1B Nick Kurtz
- 2B Jeff McNeil
- SS Jacob Wilson
- 3B Max Muncy
- OF Lawrence Butler
- OF Denzel Clarke
- OF Tyler Soderstrom
- DH Brent Rooker
One of the most fascinating teams in all of MLB, the Athletics have a young and talented lineup up and down. Extending Soderstrom and Wilson this offseason and trading for former batting champ McNeil helped to ensure the future of the team as they look to move to Las Vegas soon.
AL Rookie of the Year Nick Kurtz will return as well to play first for the squad after slugging 36 home runs last season. This is an Athletics team that truly has a shot at making the playoffs so long as their bats stay hot. If only their pitching can keep up.
Texas Rangers
- C Kyle Higashioka
- 1B Jake Burger
- 2B Josh Smith
- SS Corey Seager
- 3B Josh Jung
- OF Brandon Nimmo
- OF Wyatt Langford
- OF Evan Carter
- DH Joc Pederson
Since shocking everyone by winning the World Series in 2023, the Rangers haven’t even made the postseason since then. With the departure of legendary manager Bruce Bochy, it’s unsure what to expect for Texas.
They traded away Marcus Semien to the New York Mets for outfielder Brandon Nimmo, adding to the outfield group highlighted by Langford. Pederson could split time at DH with minor-league pickup Andrew McCutchen, but he’ll have to earn his spot this spring.
Los Angeles Angels
- C Logan O’Hoppe
- 1B Nolan Schanuel
- 2B Adam Frazier
- SS Zach Neto
- 3B Yoán Moncada
- OF Bryce Teodosio
- OF Jo Adell
- OF Mike Trout
- DH Jorge Soler
By far the best news from the Angels this offseason was Anthony Rendon’s contract being restructured to get him out of Los Angeles. After only 257 games in five seasons, the veteran is gone.
The long and short of it is that the Halos are not going to make the playoffs (sorry Angels fans), but they have some great players to watch. With legendary star Trout looking to return to center field, and Neto returning to shortstop, the Angels will at least have some fun games to watch without the pressure of competing for a postseason spot.
