Pope Leo hilariously roasted the Chicago Cubs while greeting a crowd at the Vatican on Wednesday.
While waving to the crowd in his Popemobile, someone yelled, “Go Cubs!” Leo, who was born in Chicago and is a White Sox fan, yelled back, “Han perdido! They lost!” The pope was referring to the Cubs losing in the National League Division Series to the Milwaukee Brewers last week.

Born Robert Prevost in Chicago, Leo is perhaps the world’s most prominent White Sox fan. He attended Game 1 of the 2005 World Series when the White Sox defeated the Houston Astros 5-3. The White Sox swept the Astros to win their first championship since 1917.

Confusion emerged when it was initially reported that Leo was a Cubs fan after he was named pontiff in May. However, the pope’s brother cleared it up by revealing Leo was a lifelong White Sox fan.
