This is why the Phillie Phanatic is the best mascot in sports. Between innings during Friday night’s Philadelphia Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park, the Phanatic perfectly played a bit off the viral Coldplay concert kiss cam that took over social media.
During Wednesday’s Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, a kiss cam showed Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. Byron had his arms around Cabot and when the two were shown on the jumbotron, they were instantly mortified and tried to hide their faces.
The reason? Byron is married. Cabot, though, is divorced.
In the video, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re extremely shy.”

The incident made international headlines after the video immediately went viral. Axios reports that both Byron and Cabot have been placed on leave pending an investigation.
The Phanatic decided to poke fun at the moment by getting “caught” with a female Phanatic while Coldplay’s “Clocks” was playing at the ballpark.

Just great work by the Phanatic to dive out of a shot on the Phillies Kiss Cam with a female "Phanatic" hiding her face. … as they played a Coldplay song during the bit. That's quality ballpark entertainment.
