The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off their second straight World Series victory, but there is always room for improvement. The Dodgers want to upgrade their bullpen after the struggles near the end of the season. However, could Los Angeles trade Teoscar Hernandez, one of its core players, this offseason?
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, Hernandez has been involved in trade conversations with the Dodgers. As of now, Los Angeles views trading Hernandez as an “unlikely” option, but it does show that it remains a consideration moving forward.
In 2025, Hernandez hit 25 home runs, marking the fifth straight season he reached that mark. The 33-year-old outfielder has been a valuable piece to the Dodgers over their last few postseasons, excelling when it matters the most. The biggest issue is Hernandez’s defense in right field, which hasn’t been fantastic.
The Dodgers are used to being heavy spenders in free agency and acquiring elite talent through trades, but this could be a different kind of offseason. Hernandez is a key piece to the Dodgers’ starting lineup, and while a trade seems unlikely, it’s clearly not out of the picture.
