The Philadelphia Phillies endured a rough and scary week, tumbling out of the top spot while the Milwaukee Brewers surged, sweeping the reigning NL East champions on the road. Here’s how the latest Sportsnaut MLB Power Rankings shake out.
**Statistics as of Monday, June 2**
1. Detroit Tigers (Last week: 2)

The Detroit Tigers move back up to the top spot in Sportsnaut’s MLB Power Rankings. They own the best record in baseball (39-21), lead the AL Central by six games, and rank third in baseball with a plus-86 run differential. While Tarik Skubal, Spencer Torkelson and Riley Greene rightfully grab headlines, second-year catcher Dillion Dingler is putting together an impressive season. He has a .788 OPS, 122 OPS+, five home runs and a 1.6 bWAR.
2. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last week: 3)

The Los Angeles Dodgers put up 29 runs — including 18 in one game — while taking two of three in their World Series rematch against the New York Yankees over the weekend. They accomplished this without superstar Mookie Betts, who broke his toe while walking to the bathroom in the dark at home.
3. Chicago Cubs (Last week: 5)

The Chicago Cubs took care of business at Wrigley Field last week, sweeping the lowly Colorado Rockies and taking two of three from the Cincinnati Reds. According to Inside Edge, designated hitter Seiya Suzuki is slugging .773 over the last 14 days, which tops the National League. However, the Cubs dealt with an injury scare to Kyle Tucker.
4. New York Mets (Last week: 6)

The New York Mets are back in first place in the National League East after going 5-1 against the Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies last week. During that span, Juan Soto launched two home runs and added a double.
5. New York Yankees (Last week: 4)

Despite losing two of three to the Dodgers over the weekend, the Yankees’ West Coast trip wasn’t a total loss. They swept the Los Angeles Angels and went 4-2 overall on the road.
6. Philadelphia Phillies (Last week: 1)

The Phillies endured a rough week. Superstar Bryce Harper got drilled in his surgically-repaired right elbow by a Spencer Strider 95 mph fastball. He avoided serious injury, but the Phillies went 1-4 while he was out of the lineup, including getting swept by the Milwaukee Brewers and losing their NL East lead. Harper is expected back in the lineup Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
7. St. Louis Cardinals (Last week: 7)

The St. Louis Cardinals were outscored 19-4 against the Texas Rangers over the weekend while losing two of three, and the Rangers were shutout in one of those games. Pitcher Sonny Gray, who was once considered a trade piece, has emerged as the ace of the staff. Against Texas on Saturday, he pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out 10 and allowing just four hits.
8. San Diego Padres (Last week: 11)

The San Diego Padres went 4-2 during last week’s homestand against the Miami Marlins and Pittsburgh Pirates. During that span, third baseman Manny Machado had two home runs, a double, and four runs scored.
9. Seattle Mariners (Last week: 9)

Where would the Seattle Mariners be without Cal Raleigh? Not only is he the best hitter on the planet right now with an MLB-leading 23 home runs, the “Big Dumper” is playing Gold Glove defense behind home plate.
10. San Francisco Giants (Last week: 10)

The San Francisco Giants were swept on the road by the Tigers before coming back home and taking two of three from the Marlins. However, during those six games, San Francisco’s offense scored just 11 runs.
11. Houston Astros (Last week: 14)

How does the Houston Astros medical staff miss that Yordan Alvarez had a fractured hand? The slugger was initially out with inflammation since May 2, but it was revealed that a small fracture was found in his right hand that’s now 60% healed. It’s not known when he will return.
12. Cleveland Guardians (Last week: 13)

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is showing why he remains one of the best players in the game. He has a .938 OPS, 163 OPS+, 11 home runs and 13 doubles as his 21-game hitting streak was snapped on Saturday.
13. Minnesota Twins (Last week: 8)

The Minnesota Twins are in a bit of a slump after their torrid streak. They’ve lost five of seven, and it comes while Royce Lewis is 0-32 in the last nine games he’s played. Lewis hasn’t recorded a hit since May 19 against the Guardians.
14. Milwaukee Brewers (Last week: 20)

Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins showed the Phillies what they were missing over the weekend. While sweeping the Phillies in three games, Hoskins hit two three-run homers on Saturday. The Brewers are now riding a seven-game winning streak.
15. Tampa Bay Rays (Last week: 15)

The Tampa Bay Rays surprisingly sent rookie Chandler Simpson back down to Triple-A after stealing 19 bases to make room for switch-hitting outfielder Jake Mangum. The Rays have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games.
16. Kansas City Royals (Last week: 16)

The Kansas City Royals have called up top prospect Jac Caglianone to add some thump to a mediocre offense. Caglianone had 15 home runs across 50 Double- and Triple-A games this year. The Royals are tied for 28th in runs scored (194) and 26th in OPS (.659).
17. Toronto Blue Jays (Last week: 21)

The Toronto Blue Jays have won five straight games and moved to second in the AL East, 5.5 games behind the Yankees and just a half-game behind the last AL Wild Card spot. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has extended his on-base streak to 32 games.
18. Texas Rangers (Last week: 22)

The Rangers scored 19 runs against the Cardinals this past weekend, taking two of three. Marcus Semien, who has struggled for most of the season, has gone on a hot streak over the last six games, going 8-for-17, with a double, home run and six runs scored.
19. Boston Red Sox (Last week: 18)

The Boston Red Sox have plummeted to fourth in the AL East standings and are now 8.5 games behind the Yankees and 3.5 games back of the last Wild Card spot.
20. Cincinnati Reds (Last week: 19)

It was an emotional moment for Elly De La Cruz on Sunday. After learning of his sister’s death, the Reds shortstop still decided to play and hit a home run during their 7-3 loss to the Cubs.
21. Atlanta Braves (Last week: 12)

In his first nine games back after returning from an ACL injury, Ronald Acuna Jr. is slashing .324/.395/.647 with three home runs and two doubles. However, the Atlanta Braves are 3-6 during that time.
22. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last week: 17)

The Arizona Diamondbacks are dealing with a major injury scare as ace Corbin Burnes left Sunday’s game against the Washington Nationals early with right elbow tightness. He will get an MRI Monday to determine the severity of the injury. This comes as Arizona has gone 2-8 in their last 10 games and sits three games under .500 at 28-31.
23. Washington Nationals (Last week: 23)

The Nationals have gone 6-4 in their last 10 games as James Wood is turning into a legitimate star. He has 16 home runs, a .952 OPS and 168 OPS+.
24. Los Angeles Angels (Last week: 25)

Mike Trout returned to the Angels lineup after missing 26 games due to left knee soreness. He’s gone 5-for-10 in his first three games back, including a three-hit game.
25. Miami Marlins (Last week: 25)

The Matt Mervis era has come to an end for the Marlins. Despite hitting six home runs over an eight-game stretch early in the season, the first baseman slashed just .175/.254/.383 and hit one more home run. He was outrighted to Triple-A after going unclaimed through waivers.
26. Baltimore Orioles (Last week: 26)

Amid the Baltimore Orioles’ abysmal season, 21-year-old Jackson Holliday is beginning to live up to the hype. He’s hitting .269/.319/.440, with seven home runs, eight doubles, and two triples.
27. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last week: 28)

The Pittsburgh Pirates offense has finally come through for Paul Skenes in his last two starts, scoring 16 runs. Skenes leads NL pitchers in bWAR (2.8) and WHIP (0.916).
28. Athletics (Last week: 27)

29. Chicago White Sox (Last week: 29)

The White Sox are only three games under .500 at home (12-15) but have a terrible road record of 6-26.
30. Colorado Rockies (Last week: 30)

The Rockies are the fastest team to lose 50 games in the modern era.
