In what can’t be considered too much of a surprise, the NL East leading New York Mets have decided to remove former All-Star Matt Harvey from their rotation after a brutal start to the season.

Harvey, 29, is coming off a start against the Atlanta Braves that saw him yield six earned runs in just four innings. In four starts this season, he has posted a 0-2 record with a sky high 6.00 ERA. New York is 2-2 in those four games and 12-3 in its other 15 games this season.

An All-Star back in 2013, Harvey simply has not been the same since missing the entire 2014 campaign with a UCL tear. It’s not yet known what the Mets’ plans are for him in the bullpen. But it will be interesting to see moving forward.
