After appealing his initial two-game suspension, New York Mets pitcher Jacob Rhame had one game shaved off for throwing near the head of Rhys Hoskins back on April 23.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Rhame will serve that one-game suspension on Thursday night.

When the incident occurred, it was the third time in a week that MLB suspended a pitcher for throwing near or at a batter in retaliation.

What is surprising is that the suspension was ultimately cut in half after Rhame admitted he was trying to hit Hoskins.

In the end, Hoskins got the last laugh anyway, slugging a home run off Rhame the next night.
