The Los Angeles Dodgers have been aggressive in MLB free agency, coming off their second straight World Series title. In a shocking move, the Dodgers signed closer Edwin Diaz to a three-year, $69 million contract. The Los Angeles pitching staff received a massive boost; however, there could be a star pitcher on the trade market.
The Dodgers are “not opposed” to trading star starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow after his name was brought up in talks at the MLB Winter Meetings, as reported by ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez. Glasnow, who was traded to Los Angeles in December 2023, has three years left on his contract, with the final year including a club option.
In 2025, Glasnow posted a 3.19 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP in 90 innings. Most notably, the Los Angeles pitcher posted a 1.69 ERA in six postseason appearances. When healthy, Glasnow is one of the best pitchers in baseball, but that has been the problem throughout his entire career.
Glasnow has only exceeded 100 innings in three of his 10 MLB seasons, with two coming in the last three years. The injuries have been a significant concern for Glasnow, which makes the $32.5 million per year price tag tough to swallow. The Dodgers might not find the value they want for Glasnow, but they are open to the idea.
