The Oakland Athletics avoided a potential arbitration hearing with star Khris Davis, reportedly agreeing to a one-year, $16.5 million settlement on Friday.

Davis enjoyed continued success with the Athletics in 2018 as he posted his third consecutive season with 40-plus home runs. This past season also saw Davis set a career-high in home runs (48), RBI (123) while posting a .247 batting average for the fourth consecutive season.

This marks the final season Davis is eligible for arbitration. He will become a free agent next offseason entering his age-32 season.
