Just when it looked like Giancarlo Stanton was on his way back to the New York Yankees, his rehab hit another snag with an entirely new injury.

Stanton was scheduled for a minor league rehab start on Tuesday but was scratched from the lineup because of “tightness” in the “knee-ish/calf area,” Yankee manager Aaron Boone said, per the New York Daily News.

As Lindsey Adler of The Athletic pointed out, this is the third injury for Stanton this year.

Stanton has appeared in just three games this season for the Yankees. In eight at-bats he has two hits and four strikeouts.
