If country superstar Brad Paisley sings the national anthem at a World Series game, expect to sit through a record-breaking marathon.
Paisley did an exceptional job performing the “Star-Spangled Banner” before Game 3’s instant 18-inning classic between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium that lasted six hours and 39 minutes.

The 57,000 fans in the crowd and the millions watching at home had no idea they were about to witness a seven-hour game β but maybe they should’ve been tipped off, and it’s all because of Paisley.
Paisley’s Marathon Track Record
Paisley made World Series history of his own as he’s now performed the national anthem before two games that have lasted at least 18 innings. He also sang the national anthem before Game 3 of the 2018 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and Dodgers, which Los Angeles won in the bottom of the 18th on a Max Muncy walk-off home run. That game lasted seven hours and 20 minutes.

This time, Paisley witnessed another Dodgers postseason walk-off home run, this time by Freddie Freeman.
The pattern runs deeper. Beyond those two 18-inning games, the three-time Grammy winner has performed the national anthem at two other World Series games that went into extras: Game 2 in 2017 between the Houston Astros and Dodgers went 11 innings (Houston won 7-6), and Game 1 in 2024 between the New York Yankees and Dodgers ended with Freeman’s walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning.
