Tiger Woods returned to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge on Thursday. While he had a few shining moments and a hot start, Tiger’s overall round left much to be desired.

Despite the poor finish, Woods has some unquestioned positives. According to ESPN’s Jason Sobel, four-under through eight holes had him tied for the lead.
So, he’s still capable of some very strong play. Whether he can put that together for a full round and tournament remains to be seen.
Sobel also quoted Woods, who was disappointed with his round.
Tiger Woods: "I let a really good round slip away at the end. … I just made some really silly mistakes, mistakes I don't normally make."

Woods finished ahead of only Justin Rose, who shot a two-over 74. Tiger is nine shots behind leader and defending champion J.B. Holmes, who fired an eight-under 64.
