Trade rumors are persistent in Major League Baseball, especially in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline. But how are they received by the players? Miguel Cabrera — whose Detroit Tigers have been at the center of many rumors in 2017 — shed some light on that before Sunday’s game.
A short while ago, Miguel Cabrera confirmed the Tigers are human beings, saying they hear the trade rumors: "We feel everything," he said.

“I don’t like to come here everyday and hear that this guy is going to get traded, this guy is going to go away,” Cabrera said.

Unfortunately for Cabrera, the rumors aren’t going to stop.
At the end of May, it was reported that the Tigers would be willing to sell if they had a losing June. Detroit did have a losing June and is well out of postseason contention, even in a crowded American League.
The rumors are certainly not going to go away. In all likelihood, the Tigers will make at least a few deals. But it’s fair to assume that Cabrera is looking forward to seeing the July 31 trade deadline in his rear view mirror.
