Miguel Cabrera Signs New Deal: Now Filthy, Dirty and Disgustingly Rich

Detroit Tigers infielder Miguel Cabrera has agreed to a 10-year contract worth nearly $300 million, via ESPN and others. Needless to say, Cabrera won’t be finding himself fixing up a fixer upper in Detroit any time soon. Heck, he can likely buy all of them and still have a few million in change left.

Outside of the ridiculousness of a baseball player earning $292 million, this extension should come as somewhat of a surprise. Cabrera will be making $29.2 million at the ripe old age of 40. Considering his previous issues with weight, we could be looking at a combination of Bartolo Colon and Babe Ruth out there at some point in the near future.

Back to the ridiculousness for a second. This is how Cabrera’s new contract breaks down.

Per Year: $29.2 million

Per Game: $180,246.00

Per At-Bat: $52,612.00

Per Inning: $20,274.00

Per Day in the Calendar Year: $80,000

Per Hour: $3,333.00

Per Minute: $55.56

Per Second: 93 cents
