Jim Harbaugh won’t be coaching the Michigan Wolverines in 2024, and thankfully, it’s not because he’s been suspended or faces further discipline by the NCAA. This left the Wolverines with a massive hole to fill right after winning the College Football Playoff National Championship, but it didn’t take long for Michigan to find their new head coach. And they didn’t have to go far to find him either.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sherrone Moore has been hired to take over as the full-time head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. The move comes just two days after Harbaugh left to fill the Los Angeles Chargers’ coaching vacancy, but Michigan knew who they wanted all along.

Moore has agreed to a five-year contract, starting out at $5.5 million.

Moore previously served as Michigan’s offensive coordinator/offensive line coach, but when Harbaugh wasn’t allowed on the sidelines, we also saw him take over head coaching duties.

Officially, Moore has just a 1-0 record, but he also led the Wolverines to three more wins before Harbaugh was allowed to return for the CFP. Moore has been with Michigan since 2018, but now he has big shoes to fill in Ann Arbor.
