Michael Bush at NFL Veteran Combine: ‘There Goes My Career’

Running back Michael Bush is attempting to revive his career by participating in the first-ever NFL Veteran Combine being held in Tempe, Arizona.

However, he clocked an awful 40-yard dash time of 4.91 seconds, which did not make the 30-year-old running back very happy. After hearing his time, Bush reportedly lost it a bit, by sharing some colorful language, according to NFL.com.

You gotta be (expletive) me… 4.91? … There you go, there goes my career.

Reporters tried to change the course of the conversation with another question, but Bush was not ready to let his time go.

Man, stop playing. 4.91? You all just messed it up for me. A 4.91? That’s like saying you can come off the bench, and you can come catch me.

Whether Bush’s 40-yard dash will be the last hit that sinks his battleship, we do not know. However, he seems to be pretty convinced by the tone of his comments.

To me, I think that’s all they look at. It hurts. It hurts.

The last time we saw Bush suit up to play was in the 2013 NFL season for the Chicago Bears where he totaled 197 rushing yards and three touchdowns, averaging only 3.1 yards per attempt. Bush’s best career stats come from his last season while playing with the Oakland Raiders in 2011. Filling in for an injured Darren McFadden, Bush managed 977 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while starting nine games that season.
