WATCH: Michael Bennett calls out Seahawks owner to pay Kam Chancellor

Michael Bennett

Michael Bennett knows how much Kam Chancellor is worth, and he called out Paul Allen, owner of the Seattle Seahawks, to “pay him” after Monday night’s exciting win over the Detroit Lions.

Chancellor has proven his value to the franchise time and time again, but just for good measure the safety proved it once again on Monday Night Football against the Lions. In the waning moments of the game with the Lions knocking at the door for the potential game-winning score, Chancellor knocked the ball out of Calvin Johnson’s hand right before the receiver was about to cross the goal line for the lead.

The touchdown would have put Detroit up by a score of 16-13 before the extra point attempt with just 1:45 left on the clock. Instead, Seattle put the game away with a first down on the next possession, sending the Lions back to Detroit with an 0-4 record to open the season.

Here is the hit that dislodged the ball. It was a thing of beauty.

After the game, speaking about Chancellor’s value, Bennett had some frank words about the situation.

“Paul Allen…17th richest man in the world, pay him!”

Hard to disagree with Bennett on this one.

As most are likely aware, Chancellor missed the first two games of the season in a holdout with the club over his contract. He ultimately came back without any new deal but obviously still wants one. Apparently so do his teammates.
