Ed Reed is coming back to the U. A Miami Hurricanes legend and NFL Hall of Famer, Reed has been hired by Manny Diaz to be the new Chief of Staff.

Manny Navarro of The Athletic shared what this means, which is that Reed will be serving “in an advisory role to Diaz in all aspects of the football program, including strategic planning, quality control, operations, player evaluation and player development.”

Miami is desperate to climb back to prominence as a national championship contender and top destination for elite prospects. Diaz led the Hurricanes to a 6-7 record in his first year after being hired to replace Mark Richt, so there is plenty of room for improvement.

Adding a former player of Reed’s caliber, and a man who has spent time in the NFL coaching circuit, is certainly a savvy move that should pay immediate dividends as Miami looks to achieve its goal.
