Miami Hurricanes lead 13-point comeback to advance to Final Four

For the first time in NCAA Tournament history, the Final Four of the men’s bracket will not feature a No. 1, 2, or 3 seed. That fun fact is now official after the Miami Hurricanes knocked off the second-seeded Texas Longhorns for their first Final Four appearance in program history on Sunday.

The ‘Canes trailed the Longhorns by as much as 13 points, with the score moving to 49-62 with just over 14 minutes remaining in the game. Yet, the Longhorns would score just 19 more points the rest of the way, with the Hurricanes putting the clamps on while also tacking on an additional 39 points to emerge with the 88-81 victory.

Senior guard Jordan Miller was a major reason for Miami’s success, as he scored a game-high 27 points, shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor while also being immaculate from the line, chipping in 13 points via the charity stripe.

While the Hurricanes men’s basketball team has reached the NCAA Tournament a total of 12 times, this is by far the biggest win in Miami’s 61-year history. But next up is an even bigger test.

Miami will now take on UConn next Saturday at 8:49 PM ET on CBS in their attempt to advance to the NCAA Tournament National Championship.
