Details of Miami Heat’s new and loaded Damian Lillard trade offer revealed

The Miami Heat reportedly plans to bring a new Damian Lillard trade proposal to the Portland Trail Blazers soon, and it is their biggest offer yet.

The Damian Lillard trade saga has been one of the weirder stories this offseason in the NBA. Despite speculation for months, it seemed like both the Trail Blazers and the team legend wanted to stay together heading into next season. However, when Portland did not make any bold moves for veteran stars early this summer, it changed the seven-time All-Star’s opinion of the team.

However, when he did the inevitable and requested a trade out of town, it wasn’t long before it became clear that Lillard only had one team on his wish list, the Miami Heat. That of course has not been very beneficial for Portland and they have been in no rush to make a deal. And in ways it seems like they have almost purposefully been hoping an agreement can’t be made.

They have left things in Miami’s court in the hopes they can come up with an offer that they can no longer refuse. Well, the Heat are hoping their latest proposal can finally land them the superstar talent they desperately need.

On Monday, The Athletic and Fan Duel NBA insider Shams Charania reported of the franchise’s plans for a revised offer to Portland, which can be found below:

  • Three to four first-round picks
  • Pick swap(s)
  • Second-round pick(s)
  • Tyler Herro sent to a third team
  • Expiring contracts
  • Young player(s)

Obviously, the final deal could vary greatly but at the higher end of it, as many as four to six NBA Draft picks and multiple players could be involved in a deal that may also include three or more teams.

  • Damian Lillard stats (’22-’23): 32.2 PPG, 4.8 A=RPG, 7.3 APG, 37% 3PT

It will be interesting to see if this new proposal gets the Miami Heat any closer to a trade for Lillard.
