The Week 3 matchup scheduled between Miami and Florida State could be postponed due to Hurricane Irma, set to pummel the state of Florida.
Florida State is currently shut down and has extended the school’s closure through Friday, Sept. 15, the university announced Saturday.
“Based on the most recent forecast from the National Hurricane Center, Florida State University is extending its current closure through Friday, Sept. 15, for all campuses, due to concerns about the impact of the storm and possible long-term power outages in the Tallahassee area as a result of fallen trees.”
According to Corey Clark of the Tallahassee Democrat, if the game on Saturday is postponed, then it would likely occur on Oct. 7, as both teams share that open date.
Both Miami and Florida State had their Week 2 games cancelled because of Hurricane Irma.
