The New York Mets traded pitcher Jason Vargas to the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, but that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to shop Noah Syndergaard and Zack Wheeler.

David Lennon of Newsday shared that the Mets are “very much still open for business on those two,” following the Vargas trade.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network shared the news of the Vargas trade. The Mets are getting AA catcher Austin Bossart, along with cash, in return for Vargas.

The latest MLB trade rumors suggest the Mets are more keen on trading Syndergaard than Wheeler, and that the recent trade to acquire Marcus Stroman may have been done with that exact outcome in mind.
