Is Matt Garza Right In The Head?

New Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Matt Garza is definitely one of those odd characters around baseball. His eccentric personality mixed with both a passion for the game and some off-handed remarks here and there, have led some to believe that he’s not playing with a full deck.

Garza’s latest antics after yielding a three-run homer to St. Louis Cardinals’ Jon Jay in Milwaukee’s first loss in 10 games isn’t necessarily doing him any favors. Look up the word psycho in the dictionary and this following GIF might appear…

In total, Garza gave up four runs and nine hits in seven innings, as the Cardinals shutout Milwaukee 4-0.

If you remember correctly, Garza made news last year by going after Eric Sogard’s wife, and a friend of the site, Kaycee, following a game against the Oakland Athletics.

Outside of Garza displaying his male chauvinist side, he’s been considered somewhat of a loose cannon since his days with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Matt Clapp of Next Impulse Sports may have summed it up best…

Now, every game against the Cardinals (still the heavy favorites to win the NL Central) should be considered a big one for Garza and the Brewers, but even Carlos Zambrano would may say, “Dude, let’s take it down a notch.”
