Matt Bryant announces he’s been released by Falcons

Matt Bryant released by Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have released kicker Matt Bryant after 10 seasons, the veteran announced on Twitter Wednesday morning.

Bryant hit 20-of-21 attempts for Atlanta last season and still had two years left on the three-year, $10.1 million contract he signed with the Falcons before the 2018 season.

The 43-year-old kicker recently made it clear he has no intention of retiring.

Given the difficulty some teams have had with kickers recently, it seems a given that Bryant will be picked up by one of them before training camp begins this summer.

Over the course of his career, Bryant has made 388 of his 450 attempts (86.2 percent).
