There are few things more iconic in American sports than the Masters being played in the first full week of April, but COVID-19 is going to take that off the table in 2020.
The Masters will be postponed due to coronavirus.
The PGA Tour announced Thursday night that it was shutting down The Players Championship, just hours after declaring the tournament would go on as planned without spectators.
Likely, that had a lot to do with players like Rory McIlroy speaking out about the logistics of needing every player, and everyone who works any tournament, to be tested for coronavirus.
After what transpired across the nation in other pro sports and in college basketball Wednesday night and Thursday, this is in no way a surprise.
At this time, there is no date for the Masters to be played.
