The Oakland Raiders released troubled young wide receiver Martavis Bryant prior to the start of the regular season. Bryant had struggled during camp and the preseason.

But the release was more about a pending suspension that was about to be handed down to Bryant. Having already been exiled from the league multiple times in his young career, Bryant was seemingly facing a year-plus suspension.

Hence, why the Raiders released him mere months after exhausting a third-round pick to the Steelers in exchange for the talented young pass catcher.

Now comes this odd report from NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo noting that Bryant is actually at the Raiders’ facility on Tuesday talking about a return to the team.

As Garafolo notes, Bryant is not yet officially suspended. This means that he’s technically eligible to re-sign with the Raiders.

Though, Oakland’s decision to bring Bryant in could mean that something else is up behind the scenes. Is it possible that he won’t in fact be suspended? There’s no way to tell on that front.
