Report: Steelers think Martavis Bryant will be cleared within week

Martavis Bryant

The NFL conditionally reinstated  Martavis Bryant in April, but the Pittsburgh Steelers receiver is still restricted in what he can do. According to a report, the Steelers expect that to change soon.

Bryant was suspended for the entire 2016 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

If Bryant can return to his pre-suspension form, it will be a significant boon to Pittsburgh in 2017. He played in only 21 games over the 2014 and 2015 seasons. But in those 21 games, Bryant hauled in 76 passes for 1,314 yards and an impressive 14 touchdowns.

With his size, Bryant is a big red zone target for Ben Roethlisberger. The attention he’ll draw will also open the field up more for the smaller, quicker receivers on the Steelers, namely Antonio Brown. Pittsburgh already has a formidable offense. With Bryant’s impending return, it will only get better.
