Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the Miami Marlins will appear on the cover of MLB The Show 23.

Chisholm, 24, made his MLB debut in 2020 and was an All-Star in 2022. An infielder in his first three seasons, Chisholm will play center field in 2023 after the Marlins’ acquisition of American League batting champion Luis Arraez from the Minnesota Twins. Arraez will play second base.

A native of the Bahamas, Chisholm said his cover is special.

“It’s something I always dreamed of from when I was a kid,” Chisholm said Monday in a live stream on MLB’s YouTube channel after the cover announcement. “I always wanted to be (on the cover of a video game), but I never thought it would become a reality as quick as it has.”

And he also said he hopes to bring some pizzazz to the game, including the Eurostep he performs when he hits a home run.

“I want baseball to be that thing where people turn it on and be like, ‘Oh, yeah, this guy is on. Watch him do this. And he’s gonna do his Eurostep! He’s gonna hit a home run and do this little basketball shot around first base,” Chisolm said, per Sports Illustrated.

“It’s like when you watch Ja Morant now in the NBA. Like, that’s who you want to watch. And he’s making it fun for everybody to watch. So that’s what I want to be.”

The game will go on sale March 28. It will be available on for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels was on the cover in 2022.
