The Seattle Mariners reinstated right-hander Erik Swanson (right elbow inflammation) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned left-hander Anthony Misiewicz to Triple-A Tacoma.

Swanson, 28, went on the IL on May 14 and made two rehab appearances last week. In 13 relief appearances with the Mariners this season, he is 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA with 21 strikeouts and just one walk in 14 innings.

In parts of four seasons with Seattle, Swanson has a 1-10 record with a 4.93 ERA.

Misiewicz, 27, has made 17 appearances for Seattle this season, posting an 0-1 record and 4.61 ERA, with six walks and just eight strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings.

He led the Mariners in appearances in each of the past two seasons (66 games last season, 21 in the abbreviated 2020 campaign). In 104 career games, he is 5-8 with a 4.48 ERA, striking out 86 in 88 innings.

Earlier in the week, the Mariners acquired Ryan Borucki from the Blue Jays, who apparently supplanted Misiewicz as a left-handed option in the Seattle bullpen.
