Toronto Maple Leafs sign Erik Kallgren to two-year deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed Swedish goaltender Erik Kallgren to a two-year, two-way contract on Wednesday.

The NHL salary on the contract carries an average annual value of $750,000.

Kallgren, 24, went 12-9-0 in 21 games for Vaxjo HC in the Swedish Hockey League this season, posting a 2.37 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.

He also went 7-3-0 with a .937 save percentage in the playoffs to help his club win the league championship.

Kallgren originally was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
