There’s been a ton of speculation regarding the potential landing spots for All-Star free agent Manny Machado.
A recent report from ESPN’s Buster Olney suggests that the Chicago White Sox have offered Machado a well-below market value $175 million over seven seasons.
Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports then pushed back against this report, indicating that Machado was offered much more by the Sox.
hear that the rumor of a chisox 175M offer for 7 years for manny machado is not correct. am told it is "way off," though not sure exactly how off. I'd say offer has to be higher and almost surely begins with a 2.

If that weren’t enough, Machado’s agent over at MVP Sports Group, Dan Lozano decided to blast Olney and other media members for “fabricating news.”

That’s just a whole lot of angry in one press release.
Whether this means that Chicago isn’t interested in Machado remains to be seen. But it’s pretty darn clear that the infielder’s reps are not happy about reports over the past several months.
