Madison Bumgarner proves he’s MLB’s most dangerous weapon with Opening Day HR

Who says pitchers can’t hit?

The season is just one day old and San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner has notched his first home run of the season. A bomb into the left-center field seats at Chase Field. Per Statcast, the ball had a max speed of 112.5 mph, averaging out at 93.1 mph. Bumgarner’s bomb was also the first home run by a National League player this season.

With a no-hitter through four innings, Bumgarner isn’t doing all that bad on the mound either. The Giants lead the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 through four innings.
