Attorney for Luke Walton slams accuser’s ‘poorly staged’ press conference

On Tuesday, Kelli Tennant, the woman accusing Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton of sexual assault, held a press conference. A day later, Mark Baute, Walton’s attorney, responded.

Baute maintained that Walton, who the Kings are standing by, is innocent. He also blasted the accuser and her attorney’s for the press conference, which he called “a poorly staged attempt to portray the accuser as a viable spokesperson for an important movement.”

“These claims are false and Luke’s innocence will be proven in court.” Baute said, per TMZ Sports. “[Tennant’s] lawyers want to create a public circus to distract from their complete lack of evidence to support their outrageous claims. We will not try this case in the media or pay them a dime.”

Walton is being accused of pinning Tennant down in a hotel room and forcibly kissing her, despite her attempts to get him to stop.

This is obviously a very delicate matter and a lot more could potentially be revealed. But certainly, things are already getting contentious.
