First Lady of the United State Jill Biden might very well just want to see some drama take hold at the White House based on her take regarding LSU and Iowa.

One day after LSU defeated Iowa to win the women’s college basketball national championship, a ton of the focus has been on two players.

LSU star Angel Reese made waves for mocking Hawkeyes sharpshooter Caitlin Clark late in the game. She’s been on the receiving end of a ton of criticism after the late-game actions. Some are legitimate. Others lead to more questions about where we are at as a society from a race relations standpoint. Either way, it’s been a drama-filled past 24 hours or so.

Apparently, FLOTUS wants to use this as a way to create a bit more unity in the women’s college basketball world. That includes the belief that both LSU and Iowa should be invited to the White House to meet with President Joe Biden.

“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come. But, you know, I’m going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come, too, because they played such a good game,” Jill Biden said on Monday.

Following the win, LSU head coach Kim Mulkey indicated that the team would go to the White House if invited by POTUS. It’s been a tradition for champions in the sports world to meet with the sitting president, sans multiple teams opting against meeting with former President Donald Trump.

As for runner-ups going to the White House, that has not been a part of the tradition. The aforementioned Reese seems to think this is a bad idea, too.

Imagine the dynamics that would be in play if both teams were to meet with POTUS at the White House.

“She disrespected Alexis (Morris) and my girls, South Carolina, they’re my SEC girls too. Y’all not going to disrespect them either,” LSU’s Angel Reese said of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark.
