LSU defensive MVP Patrick Queen declares for 2020 NFL Draft

LSU Tigers star linebacker Patrick Queen is headed for the NFL, just days after he won defensive MVP honors in the national championship.

Queen announced on Wednesday that he will forego his final season of collegiate eligibility and focus on his preparation for the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-1 linebacker entered the season as a relative unknown on the NFL’s draft radar, but sent his stock soaring this season with phenomenal play.

Queen, who called out Oklahoma’s offense before the CFP Semifinal, made his presence felt on the national stage Monday with 2.5 tackles for loss in LSU’s championship win.

Coming off a stellar junior campaign that was capped off with an MVP-caliber performance in the title game, Queen’s stock is soaring and could only rise higher during the draft evaluation process. It won’t be long before his name starts popping up as a first-round pick in mock drafts.
