Social media reacts to Los Angeles Lakers blowout win over Pelicans in In-Season Tournament Semifinal

Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers made easy work of the New Orleans Pelicans in the In-Season Tournament semifinals as L.A. trounced New Orleans 133-89 win in Las Vegas Thursday night

Though much of the game was a snoozefest, social media had a lot to say about the Lakers win.

LeBron James continues to turn back the clock

LeBron James turned in a solid performance, dropping a cool 30 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. At 38 years of age, James is defying father time as he continued to dominate against the Pelicans.

The cash prize for winning the NBA In-Season Tournament is still a motivating factor for James. James’ net worth is a little over a billion dollars, but the King is in it for the bread.

“I heard there’s $500,000 on the line, so we’re going for that,” James said after an in-season win over the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 10.

Even in the win, James’ biggest detractor still had something to say after the Lakers win.

Disappointment for Zion Williamson and the Pelicans

Thursday’s game was an opportunity for Zion Williamson and the Pelicans to notch a signature win over a legitimate contender in the west, but New Orleans just didn’t rise to the occassion.

The Pelicans shot just 35% from the field and failed to stop the Los Angeles Lakers’ offense from getting whatever they wanted.

Charles Barkley had much harsher criticism for the former No. 1 overall pick.

Los Angeles Lakers to battle Indiana Pacers in championship game

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Indiana Pacers

The stage is set for the Lakers to battle the Indiana Pacers in the inaugural in-season championship. The Pacers upset the Milwaukee Bucks 128-119 in the game on Thursday afternoon.

Los Angeles should be the favorites heading into Saturday, but will Indiana play the cinderella role one last time or will LeBron and the Lakers add more hardware to the trophy case?
