We’ve seen teams do pretty good when they’ve gone with throwback jerseys. The Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys throwbacks from the mid 1990s are still absolutely legit.

But we have to hand it to Houston Texans star receiver DeAndre Hopkins for pitching these amazing throwbacks on his Instagram page. Whoever did the editing should also get an award here.

For those of you who are not long in the tooth, these were the Houston Oilers jerseys before they related to Tennessee in 1996 and eventually rebranded as the Titans.

The white background with the baby blue was so darn fresh back in the day. The red outlines make these even better.

With all due respect to the current Houston Texans, these are about 1,000 times better than their current uniforms.

It’s good to know that Nuke understands history. Now make it happen, Texans — signed a grateful football nation.
