Those who run the Colorado Rockies Twitter account are not afraid to have some fun. On Tuesday, they did just that with ESPN.
It started with ESPN, who wrote a nice letter for a fan hoping to get out of class to watch Tuesday’s National League Wild Card Game against the Chicago Cubs.
Life says you have class. Sports say ditch it and cheer the Rockies to their 1st playoff berth in 9 years. #LifeNeedsSports https://t.co/J5XAZ6iwUK

It’s a nice gesture. There’s just one problem. The Rockies aren’t ending a nine-year postseason drought. While it wasn’t a long stay, Colorado was in the playoffs in 2017.
*whispers*
We were in the playoffs last year.

Fortunately, the two seemed to have hashed things out.
Our bad, @Rockies 🙋♂️
We’re still in favor of ditching class … just need to make sure we still do our homework next time.

Happens to the best of us.
Skool is ovurRated anyway. Let’s have a good one tonight! 🤗

Given that ESPN is broadcasting the Wild Card Game, we think they probably should have known this before. But everyone does, indeed, make mistakes.
All’s well that ends well.
