Just a year after the Miami Hurricanes hired Dan Enos as offensive coordinator, the program announced his termination on Friday in a release that was just as short as his tenure.

Enos, who Miami lured away from his role as the Alabama Crimson Tide’s assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach in 2018, was officially fired on Friday in a one-sentence statement by the university.

Firing a coach after a season is nothing new at the collegiate level. However, teams usually at least take the time to thank the coach for his services and express their best wishes for his future. It appears Miami didn’t have time or feel the need to do that.

Miami’s offense ranked 122nd nationally in rushing yards per game (118.1) and couldn’t even muster a single point against Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl. While this move might have been expected given the team’s struggles, the brevity of the statement is quite unusual.
