It has not necessarily been a banner week for EA Sports and the Madden franchise.
It was just a few days ago that social media users unearthed a scandal that included Madden bleeping out Colin Kaepernick’s name during a song as if it were somehow a bad word. That didn’t sit well with the artists whose names are attached to said song (more on that here).
While not as serious in nature, Madden is back up to its old tricks. Check out the video game misspelling Terrell Owens’ name as they congratulate him for being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Yes it’s TERRELL. https://t.co/79rQGYRVVA

Really? It’s not like we’re expecting them to spell Giannis Antetokounmpo without a Google search. It’s TO. Terrell Owens. One of the greatest wide receivers to ever suit up.
More than anything, it seems like that Madden curse has impacted Madden and EA Sports more than any athlete since its latest version was released.
Let’s just hope that Owens’ bust in Canton spells his name correct. No one needs that type of mistake, right?
