HBO’s Hard Knocks does an incredible job each summer at providing football fans with an up-close look at the action they’d never see in training camp. If Jared Goff’s Instagram story is an indicator of what’s to come, this year’s version of Hard Knocks will be stranger than ever.

NFL fans were already excited to watch Hard Knocks this August with the documentary series set to feature the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. If two teams weren’t enough, HBO appears ready to show everyone what it’s like to get daily COVID-19 tests.

Goff arrived at the Rams’ facilities on Monday to undergo his first COVID-19 test of the summer. At a time of social distancing, HBO and NFL Films still found a way to make viewers practically feel like a cotton swab during the invasive test.

The NFL agreed to test its players for the coronavirus daily for the first two weeks of training camp. When football fans tune in for the first episode of Hard Knocks this year, they’ll need to be prepared to see an insane amount of COVID-19 testing.

We’ve seen major injuries become featured storylines in prior seasons of Hard Knocks, creating dramatic scenes and cliffhangers. At this point, we wouldn’t be surprised if HBO finds a way to use positive COVID-19 tests for similar methods this year.
