For the first time, the New England Patriots have shared pictures of Cam Newton wearing his new jersey, and they are a sight to behold.
The team released pictures of players suited up ahead of the 2020 season. Newton, sporting his signature No. 1, looks trim and ready to embark on his new adventure.
Originally selected first overall by the Carolina Panthers in 2011, Newton spent his first nine seasons with the team that drafted him. Back in 2015, Newton won NFL MVP and took his team to the Super Bowl, where the Panthers lost to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
Eventually, injuries took a toll, and the franchise released him this past offseason. Now more determined than ever to prove he’s still elite, Newton should be favored over Jarrett Stidham to start for the Patriots in 2020.
