The Superdome in New Orleans was magically lit as Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke the all-time passing yards record Monday night against the Redskins.

The play itself was about as amazing as it gets. Brees hit little-known wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith for a 62-yard touchdown. Now, less than 24 hours after that electric play, Brees’ game uniform and the ball he threw for the record have been showcased in the Hall of Fame in Canton.

This is just all sorts of awesome. Soon enough, Brees himself will be personally headed to Canton. But, not before he finishes out this current season and plays for what he claims might be a few more.

Brees officially now has 72,103 passing yards on record, besting Peyton Manning who previously held the record with 71,940 yards.

With plenty of games still left in him, those 72,103 yards will just keep building. Next up for Brees following his Week 6 bye will likely be a 500th career touchdown pass.

It seems like the milestones will keep rolling in at this rate. Brees is simply an anomaly at this point in his brilliant 18-year career.

Congratulations are obviously well in order!
